Dr. Scott A. Fulton is a Board-Certified and Fellowship-trained Gastroenterologist at The Gastroenterology Group in Akron, Ohio. Serving as the President of the practice, he shares his passion for providing health care to patients looking to relieve digestive system issues.

Dr. Fulton received his Bachelor of Science in microbiology and chemistry from the University of Massachusetts, in Amherst, Massachusetts. Shortly after this, he pursued his Doctor of Medicine from the University of California in San Diego, California. 

He continued his Internal Medicine Residency at MetroHealth Medical Center through Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, where he served as the Chief Resident in Internal Medicine. He went on to complete his Gastroenterology Fellowship at Case Western Reserve (MetroHealth) and Rush Presbyterian University in Chicago, Illinois.

In addition to high honors in school, Dr. Fulton has received recognition from Cleveland Magazine Top Docs and has been considered one of the Castle Connolly Regional Top Doctors since 2015.

Serving several years as a clinical instructor, associate professor, and associate staff physician at multiple locations, he has also received awards for his teaching from the AGMC Department of Medicine. Dr. Fulton is also an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown, Ohio.

Dr. Fulton has previously participated in research and contributed to many projects. He’s published work about liver disease, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and preventing infection for patients with cirrhosis.

When he’s not providing care for his patients, Dr. Fulton enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf. He looks forward to meeting the needs of current and new patients.
